3 Stars Great picture, disappointing sound
I got this tv at an amazing price – about $630 but actually ended up returning it… The picture was beautiful but I was disappointed in the sound. Like the other reviewer, I had to turn the volume all the way to the top to catch conversations. This may not be an issue if you have speakers – I didn’t. I ended up spending quite a bit more and getting an LG. The picture is just as good, and the sound is a bit better. I don’t have HD right now, so this review is based on my Comcast cable.

I removed my CRT 32″ Toshiba from it’s TV cabinet while I was doing some flooring in my home. I forgot just how darn heavy and bulky these old school TVs can be. I decided at that moment that I would replace it with something more modern, and lighter. This 32″ tv out of the box looked so much smaller, in height, than the previous one that I was concerned it was too small for my needs, it turns out it wasn’t. The picture on the other hand, was absolutely brilliant in HD mode. Rich, vibrant colors that makes my bedroom Element HD TV look poor in comparison. Audio quality is pretty good, very clear. Not very good low frequency sound but very good nonetheless. No probs with the connections and a good intuitive menu. The only prob., and it’s not really a prob, is running an audio cable to my surround sound audio system. It requires a single digital optical audio cable. Last time I tried one of those cables on a different system, I wasn’t pleased with the audio quality (ie tinny sound) so we will see how this one sounds once connected.

Great TV – perfect in our small living room. I can finally see the actual writing on the sports scores! MUCH clearer than the Panasonic lower line.
Also, Amazon beat *everyone* else’s price by $250 – $500 here including free shipping, $750 the cheapest elsewhere. The locals who promised to beat anyone’s price wouldn’t touch it!!
4 Stars Panasonic TC-L32G1
We bought this TV for our bedroom, and it we like it very much. The set is easy to set up, and the picture is great. Based on some other reviews, we were concerned about the sound being too weak. The speakers are small and are at the bottom. We listened to the TV in several stores and had the turn the volume way up (more than other brands) to hear it clearly. However, at home this is no problem at all.
Our one big complaint is the remote, of all things. It cannot be used to control any other device. For example, you can’t use it to turn on a satellite receiver. The TV remote is the only device that can select the input for the TV. So if you want to switch between satellite and VCR, you need to use the TV remote. But once satellite is chosen, you need to use the satellite remote to switch satellite channels. It gets worse if you want to use features on the VCR remote (e.g., search). This is not a problem with the remote for a 2-year-old 50″ Panasonic TV we own. We called Panasonic about this under-featured remote, and we were told to fax our concern to a number, and maybe they would send us a better remote. After doing that and hearing nothing, we called Panasonic again and were basically told “Are you crazy? We don’t do that.” So the choice is to either use multiple remotes or buy a better one yourself.

I bought this one at the same time that I bought the 50″ plasma. Though I have already had a problem with the plasma, this one has been up to expectations. Easy to set up, and I have no idea what is meant in other reviews about green casts….the picture & color are excellent.

This TV is AWESOME! Best TV i have owned yet. The clear panel makes this TV. I would tell anyone to get this TV no matter how much. The 37LZ800 handles motion great. Looks better then a 120Hz TV.
5 Stars 37″ LCD – Excellent Quality
I read all the features and LCD TV reviews before making my decision. I selected the Panasonic, though it was more expensive compared to other very good choices, for a number of reasons. Consumer Reports rated it tops in the 37″ size category. Many past reviewers gave it overall very high marks with very few below that rating. I was very pleased with past experience with Panasonic products. Also, I believe the Panasonic had larger and higher watt speakers in this LCD TV size range compared to competitors. Overall speaker quality in TVs of this size may be somewhat compromised because of the dimensional compactness of the box and that the 37″ may be used in varied locations with different needs: a small family or living room where some would want better speaker quality verses a bedroom setting where just adequate speakers may suffice. The Panasonic speakers were rated higher than the competition in this size range and we have found the speakers for our large bedroom more than adequate.
Having now had the LCD for a couple of months, it is excellent. I have nothing negative to indicate. Basically disconnected the cable from the old tv and hooked it up to the new LCD. We have Verizon Fios and the HDTV programs come in sharp and colors are perfect. Non-HDTV is fine as well. We have made no adjustments at all to any of the settings except fiddling around with the TV format sizing to get the right size picture (and this is a normal thing to be doing with any set). I highly recommend this Panasonic product.

I recently purchased Panasonic’s Viera TC-37LZ800 37-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV to replace a Samsung 37 inch HDTV. The Panasoic has much better pitcure quality than the Samsung. The colors are perfect. It has great sound quality and a user-friendly remote. The Samsung that we had before came from Best Buy and they tried to convince me to have them come out and calibrate the tv for a $300 fee. This Panasonic has a perfect pitcure straight out of the box without any expensive calibration. I highly recommend this tv.
