Ok, I finally decided to make the jump to Blu-ray and bought a Samsung BD-P1600 player for my scepter 32BV-FullHD LCD HDTV. I bought three different Blu-ray so far and am curious why two of them (Stargate, 2010) show black bars at the top and bottom, while the third (Bullitt) expands to fill the screen. All three films show that they are high definition 1080p, 16×9, and 2.4:1. Both the player and TV are 1080p and am using a high quality HDMI cable. I leave the TV to "wide-aspect" in all three, instead of "normal" or "zoom". I do not mind much, but I'm just curious why it would be different in this regard. Thanks! Is this bs! Not everyone was player Blu-ray! I remember that my dad used to have VHS player and that he supported and was happy that VHS won over BETA against.
